We are pleased to announce that Christos Cabolis will be joining the Yale School of Management staff on July 1 as the Executive Director of the International Center for Finance. Reporting to Will Goetzmann, who is the Director of the ICF, Christos will be responsible for directing the administrative and operational activities for the Center, ranging from our current initiatives in international corporate governance, financial history, and global capital markets, to our research-oriented conferences and special events. His knowledge of economics and finance and his ability to manage people and programs will be very useful in helping the Center and its programs rise to prominence.

Christos comes to us from Yale College where he is serving as Dean of Jonathan Edwards College. For the last three years, he has also been a Fellow of the ICF as well as a Lecturer in Yale College. He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Economics and is a candidate for a Ph.D. in Economics.

Christos brings to his new SOM role valuable academic administrative experience, in addition to knowledge of the administrative functions of the University. We eagerly await his arrival, as Christos will play a key role in continuing to make the ICF one of the leading academic institutions devoted to financial research in the world.

The Center's fellowship is comprised of leading scholars in and outside of the Yale School of Management who work on key empirical and theoretical problems in Financial Economics. Our advisory board is comprised of leaders in the financial community. We also support an active doctoral program with a concentration in Finance at the Yale School of Management. A major component of research at the International Center for Finance is the study of the history of the world's financial markets. The New York Stock Exchange Research Project is an on-going collection effort to assemble research-quality data for the entire history of the NYSE. The ICF collection of historical securities is a collection of documents and contracts that trace the history of financial innovation in the world's capital markets.

Our home at 46 Hillhouse Avenue houses state-of-the-art research facilities, a financial library and a meeting room for research interaction and working seminars. For those curious about Yale and New Haven in general, visit our links to the city and the university.

We present conferences and seminars throughout the year on current topics in Finance. Recent meetings have explored the theory of financial institutions and corporations, behavioral finance and advances in asset pricing. Each month, we co-sponsor a regular radio program "The Smart Investor," on Connecticut Public Radio.

Financial research has a long history at Yale. The Finance Center will provide a forum for continuing this tradition, bringing together fellows from the School of Management, the Yale Economics Department, and the Yale Law School to explore the future of our markets and financial institutions.
